Hi! I’m Mackenzie
My grandma Judy taught me to sew when I was 6. I loved the hours we spent in her basement workshop; the cabinets full of satin and fleece and assortments of fabric. I learned how to sew quilts, and to embroider sweatshirts with lettering. She made me the coolest outfits, and inspired me with her ability to do anything herself.
Years later, my love for embroidery was re-sparked when I assisted running a merchandise company in CA.
I now live in Charlotte, North Carolina where I offer live embroidery services and small-batch custom requests with my 7-needle Janome machine. My mom Laurie is part of Leo Stitch Studio and is the best coworker I could imagine.
In my spare time, I’m hanging out with my family and dog Pancho. I practice yoga religiously, and believe dance is my greatest medicine. I’m happiest hiking through a forest in the mountains, but need social outings in the city to keep me energized. My simple pleasures include slow mornings with gourmet coffee and a crossword.

Leo Stitch Studio is named after the zodiac sign, which just happens to be my sun sign and the season in which this company was officially born.
Leo energy is all about shining your light and authenticity.
It asks you to be both the main character and the author of your story.
Oh, and Leo loves a party - it delights in celebrating others and life itself.
That’s what I aim to give with Leo Stitch Studio.
